Overview of Pushkar / Ajmer

Pushkar is a town in the Ajmer district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located to the northwest of Ajmer and Situated at a height of 510 meters. Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India. Pushkar is surrounded by hillocks on three sides. It is one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage site) for devout Hindus. Pushkar is also known as ‘The Rose Garden Of Rajasthan’. The essence of the famous Pushkar rose is exported all over the world.

Ajmer is a city in the north Indian state of Rajasthan. Ajmer gets its name from ‘Ajay Meru’. Which, means ‘invincible hills’. The city of Ajmer founded by Raja Ajaypal Chauhan in the 7th century AD. After Prithviraj Chauhan’s defeat by Mohammed Ghori in 1193 AD, Ajmer became home to Mughal dynasties. The Mughals fancied it as their favorite destination due to the presence of the holy Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

Ajmer: -Ajmer is a city in north Indian state of Rajasthan. The Ajmer Sharif Dargah - a sacred shrine of Muslim Sufi Saint Garib Nawaz, is situated in the south of the city's artificial Ana Sagar lake. Nearby, The Ajmer Government Museum is a palace which is built by Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century, which has armor and stone sculptures. Indo-Saracenic-style Mayo College shows a museum of art and charismatic birds. Along with this one can visit Adhai-din ka Jhonpda, Nasiyan Jain Temple and the cool site of Ana Sagar Lake. Later on, you return Back to Jaipur.
